This year, the Boy Scouts of America will transform to Scouts BSA and start a new program called Family Scouting that offers girls the same awesome Scouting opportunities that boys have today.
Boulder’s Troop 78 is now helping to launch a new, all-girls troop that will make our troop’s unique Scouting method available to girls for the first time.
We have begun recruiting adult leaders and girls aged 11-17 (6th-12th grade) who are interested in joining camping- and adventure-oriented Scouts BSA troop.
This new, all-girls troop will launch with support from Troop 78’s proven 50-year program and today’s active adult volunteer culture. That means the new troop will be girl-led and adult-enabled while it spends more time outside than indoors. Troop 78 will mentor this new troop with its unique Scouting method:
- Troop 78’s On to First Class program
- Scouting’s patrol method
- Our unique Stairstep to Adventure
- Support from Troop 78 volunteers
Do you know girls and adults interested in camping and the outdoors? Please e-mail Troop 78 Committee Member Meridith Bacus at firstname.lastname@example.org to get more info on our upcoming informational meetings.
